R U READY?

This song is dedicated to the young adults who are going to graduate soon and entering the whole new chapter of life.
Listen to the lyrics carefully.
:)

Am I the only one feeling this way

There is a storm that's filling my head
No reversing from my yesterdays
There's gotta be a better way

I wanna get out, I wanna be free
I wanna be all I can be
But right now (right now)
It starts now (starts now)
I gotta GET IT TOGETHER!

Here we go, R U ready
Here we are just keeping it steady
Cos this life just got one shot
We gotta break through till we reach the top
R U ready

Please unfold tomorrow's mysteries
Will I fall in the traps of society
Or rise in the midst of kings and queens
Kings and queens…

What's the point if life comes easy
You crash, you burn and you fly
You're free

Here we go, R U ready
Here we are just keeping it steady
Cos this life just got one shot
We gotta break through till we reach the top
R U ready

So I sing out loud
(Gonna stand up proud)
Cos I know I'm in control
I can't wait to see
(What's meant to be)
I can't wait to see
What the future holds…for me

Here we go, R U ready
Here we are just keeping it steady
Cos this life just got one shot
We gotta break through till we reach the top
R U ready

Here we go, R U ready
Here we are just keeping it steady
Cos this life just got one shot
We gotta break through till we reach the top
R U ready

R U ready……

Le Presentation

Had our project presentation to our client, Sarawak museum on the 5th of July, which is a Thursday.

Well the subject is supposed to be last semester's. Something happened during the presentation last semester, the clients ffk-ed and the whole thing was pretty screwed. We were so disappointed that time because the clients did not turn up as they have promised, and we spent the whole semester and countless sleepless nights to complete this project. I was pissed and seriously disappointed to be frank, guess the rest of my classmates felt that way too eh. Like hello, who doesn't in this kind of situation right? I thought that was the end of everything already.

Thank god my lecturer did not give up on this project yet. He tried to find other clients and propose the project and ideas to them, even went over to the Sarawak Museum with the leader and presented the works to them. And guess what, there are people who are interested in the project that we did, and for the Sarawak Museum, *poker face* the director was so excited after seeing what we have done. Tell ya, his attitude towards us changed dramatically after we proved to him what we can do. Swt. But happy lah knowing that they liked our stuffs.

Presentation on that day itself was the smoothest one ever. Lol. Even though i was nervous like shit. In the end i managed to pull through, so does my classmates. Yay!

The team of the day. Some of the classmates are not in though.

Thank you peepo!

Hello July

And here goes, half of 2012 is gone, it's July now. Well actually i feel that 2012 has only begun not long ago. Is it me or everyone feels this way?

Anyway I am in my very final semester right now. It is winter semester so it will be a really short one, like one month plus? Now I am left with one more month to go aka 4 weeks, then I am all done with my university life. Will be back in West Malaysia by then, and start preparing for the next phrase of my life. Gan jeong.

I wonder how the real life working would be like?

I mean, I have been through 3 months internship in an advertising company back then in college. But I don't think with that 3 months of experience I'll be able to get myself all prepared for the working world. And that was like, 2 and a half years ago?

Seeing my college friends suffering and being all stressed over their work is making me hell worried. I am afraid mine will be even worse. And looking at my university friends who are a batch ahead of me having hard time looking for jobs is making me even more worried like fuck man. Oh lord. I have a few companies in my list right now, and I do really hope that I could get in either one of them, seriously. *prays*

And I am wondering whether people actually feel lost before they graduate?

I have been feeling this way since the starting of the semester. I thought I already know which way should i go, but then when i think of it again and again, of course after reading the articles and suggestions, I am starting to wonder again. There more I think the more I'll feel lost. Well, I already feel lost though, in the middle of no where, not knowing which path should I take.
Now I really wish someone will guide me through this.
People said you need passion. I thought i found mine, now i've lost it. And i need to find it back.

To be honest, since this semester started I am all worried, stressed and emotional only, the temper is even worse now. Pre-graduation effect ah???
There are so many thoughts going on in my head recently. Just remembered that I have a blog, at least I can throw some stuffs in here. Lol. And this post can be really long if I go on.

But no. Cuz I have to do my assignment now already. Lol. Memang no mood wheyyyyyy but still gotta get the works done.

Before i end this post...

VIVA ESPANAAAAA!

Yes, Spain has won the Euro Cup, again. They have been the champion for Euro Cup 2008, World Cup 2010 and now Euro Cup 2012 again. Definitely the strongest and best team in the world already! :D
And there are quite a lot of Barca and Madrid players in the team, it's good to see that they can work together so well for their nation despite the rivals in between Barcelona and Real Madrid. People, this is call good team work! Lol. Though I really wanted Germany to win this time. Too bad they were defeated by Italy in the semi finals. Sad sial weh that time. Because my friend and I were hoping that final would be Germany-Spain final. But then it's okay. Spain is my second favourite team after Germany, so yeah. Can't deny Spain is indeed good.

Germany will be next yo! :))

And I guess those whoever knows about football will definitely know who is Mario Balotelli. Go google if you don't know who he is. Apparently there are so many memes of him going around the internet. LOL. I hate him, really. He has a really bad attitude. Being too over confident and cocky. If you know what I mean. What he has done to Manchester United ( i'm a Man U fan btw loool ), Germany and even before the final with Spain started he tweeted that he'll invite Shakira to the final and let her see what he'll do to her boyfriend. Sweat right? So sombong! For your information Shakira's boyfriend is Gerard Pique.

Serves him right in the end! Padan muka kao kao! Italy got fried by Spain 4 times! Sorry for the Italy fans but this dude need to be taught a lesson.

Well I need to concentrate on my work now. Seems like talking about football makes me happy and excited lolwtf.

Till then. Ciao.

Bang!

First of all, I am in my final semester now. After 2 years in Kuching studying this course, i'm still alive!

5 more weeks to go, then I'm all done and farewell to Kuching and university life! :)

Ah well, for now, i'm not talking about assignments or projects. I'll be talking about Big Bang! Lol. Shoo shoo if you are not interested. :P

Apparently, this boy band announced that they will have their Alive tour in some countries chosen and Malaysia is one of them. I was so happy when i heard about the news. And guess when they will be here? 27th of October! Like a day before my birthday wtf this is going to be the birthday present for myself this year! Lol.
My friends and I are keeping an eye on their official page for the tickets already, since Singapore's one sold out within first two days. Damn, so ke-reh-zeh! Really.

To be honest BigBang is the one and only korean group that i will really listen to and get all crazy over with. Beep! Not because of their looks okay! It is because of their music and styleAnd NO, i am not a k-pop fan. Friends who know me they know what kind of music i would prefer. Well if you have listened to the other korean bands or groups, I have to say BigBang's music is outstanding, different and unique compared to the others. I never liked korean music back then, and hated it a lot. Not till my friend let me listen to this group, then i only change my mind. I was like, " Dang, this group's music is so different!" From that day onwards, i started digging their songs. Later, i've grown so much interest towards this group and decided to list them in my '' favourite band list ". ( But still, I am not really that crazy yet like those super duper crazy and obsessed fans does. If there's Linkin Park, i think i'll go for them instead lol. )    Ah wadeverrrr. Nevermind lah. B)

Now i'm hoping that the tickets won't be too expensive and pray that we'll be able to get them. Gonna get the one nearest to the stage! :D

Hope to see ya'll in October, Big Bang! :)

Bye Year 3 Sem 2

I can't believe this, my final year semester 2 has ended! Yayyyy! *throws confetti in the air* \o/

BUT THEN...

I am not done with my study life yet. There is still one more winter semester to go, then I am all done.
Don't know how my friends felt though, but this semester ended pretty fast. Wait, really fast. It feels like I am back in Kuching for my final year and wtf everything has just ended!? And now I am back in my comfy Ipoh!

This semester was really interesting i can say. Lots of things happened and of course, shitty things too. I don't wanna talk about this but really, the shitty things made me pissed off so much, and hell disappointed, for the first time ever! That was the last straw though! And it's snapped into half now. But then i managed to pull through all these. I've learned a lot of lessons throughout this period. In the end, I've got to know that being in a group assignment ain't as easy as you think. Of course, first of all, you have to get a right bunch of people to work together with, that is very important, else you'll get your things pretty screwed. Well besides the negative things, there are positive things that happened as well! Too much to write LOL. But yea, i do appreciate and thank god for those! =) Keyword : Friends.

Anyway, special thanks to the people who helped me throughout the project. Well i don't think you people can see this though hahaha but really, a big thank you! =D

Hello May and A Simple Update

Just a simple update.

Hello May.
So fast.

First of all,
I am very busy with the assignments recently. What is more worse then being a final year student throughout your university years? Seriously, I can't wait for everything to come to an end. I need a break and do things that i like/wanted to do. I. Can't. Wait.

Secondly,
Been really frustrated by this really f-ked up person. Seriously, I've been giving in again and again and again and again and again. To be honest, i am a person who is both hot and bad tempered, yet i am amazed on how i manage to control my temper, it has been so darn long my god. How the heck did i manage to tolerate this!? I am amazed, really. The things that you've done, the things that you've said, i will never ever forget. By the way, this is the very final straw from me, once you blew it up, you are out, faker. Those people whom i once thought they are worse, i was wrong, you are the one who should take this title. I hope karma comes back to you one day. The end.

Thirdly,
I can't wait for this semester to end, and winter semester to end, and then i am done with my studies, and then i can go back home, and then i can start planning on my life. From now onwards, i need to be more creative, and more mature.

Fourthly,
It's freaking 3.36am in the morning. I need to get my laundry done, my assignments done and get a few hours of sleep before waking up for the class. I am so stressed, time ain't enough at all.

This is Denise signing out.

Till then. Ciao.

Funneh, isn't it?

Been really really really busy with the assignments lately. It's only Week 3 and yet it still feels like Week 8 already omg! What could i say? This is the life of a design student. Forever not enough sleep, forever not enough time, forever loaded with assignments. I guess, that makes us differ from the other students from other courses, aye? And, who says study design is easy? Better don't judge first until you get in and have a try. But frankly, I have to say Multimedia Design is much more tougher than Graphic Design. You've got to spend more time on your assignments and having even more sleepless nights. But i guess that's worth it huh? :) I thank god that I have switched from Graphic Design to Multimedia Design. Because, I think, I have found what I really like in here. Thank god I've made up my mind to change that time. I guess, despite all the hard ass works, it's worth it in the end. :)

Speaking about Graphic Design, that reminds me of my old college mates. You know, it's really funny that those people who were once close to you, turned out to be no longer close anymore. Sometimes this makes me wonder, friends are just for temporary only, is it? Because when you leave, things will eventually change, so do the people. There are friends that I was once close to back in college. And now, sadly, we no longer talk anymore. Sad case eh? Sometimes I feel like asking them out to gather when I go back to KL, but when it comes to this, I just feel awkward and yeah... just awkward. Also, I hate being rejected. So yea. When I see them hanging out and have fun together, it's making me jealous and envy at the same time. I'm like, whoa, I really wish I am part of them too. Sigh.

Well, forget about all those.

To those ex-college friends who happen to read about this, just want to say that I really miss you guys, and I miss the days when we're together.

If you still remember, let's go out yam cha one day when I'm back in KL? Sitting down at the mamak and talk about the days back then? :) That would be great.

Are you ready for a new job?

Saw an article, which i find it helpful, and meaningful at the same time. For those who are already working and those who are going to work in the future. Here it goes. :

You’ve been working overtime. You feel like you don’t get paid quite enough. Your colleagues are annoying. And you can’t stand your manager. Are all these reasons solid enough for you to quit your job?

The idea of throwing in the towel for greener pastures may seem enticing. But before you do that, there are a few things you need to consider.

First of all, job-hopping may not necessarily look good on your CV. Many potential employers still hold the traditional view that too much job-hopping makes you look like an undependable employee.

The second thing to remember is that even if you have a more lucrative offer in the bag, there’s no guarantee that you’re not jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire. Think about it. What if the boss of the new job is even crazier? Or what if the higher pay also means longer hours and working in the weekends?

So before you let your emotions and frustrations of your current job overwhelm you into an early resignation, ask yourself these three questions before deciding to change jobs.

Is the Frustration Temporary or Permanent?

Is it just a current project that is causing you grief? Step back and take a look at the bigger picture. After this project, is there long-term potential for significant career growth where you can gain more experience, recognition and benefits?

You could sit down with your manager or with your HR department on the potential of your career growth, benefits, promotions and remunerations if you were to stay. Don’t forget to also ask about the training that your company can provide for you.

If there is good potential for your career growth and training, then it’s worth biting the bullet and sticking with your current job. Jumping into a new job will only mean starting as a newbie learning the ropes of a new company.

Here’s a good tip to help you rough out the tough times: Never forget to keep your eye on the big picture of your career growth in order to stay motivated, and remind yourself that this frustration is only temporary. It will be worth it!

2. Are You Unhappy With the Job, or With Your Colleagues?

It could be that you love what you do, but it’s the people whom you work with that are getting you down. Perhaps it’s unfavourable team dynamics, or annoying colleagues, or a tough manager.

If this is the case, consider the ways you could fix the problem before you consider quitting your job. Voice your frustrations to somebody who can remain neutral and act as a mediator, such as your HR Manager or an impartial colleague. Have all parties, including the mediator, to sit down for an open discussion with the clear objective of talking and resolving the issues.

Remember to approach the situation calmly, to listen to everyone’s frustrations, and to not make any personal attacks. Stick to the issues and have an honest, open discussion on how everyone as a team can participate to resolve it. You may even be surprised at just how much things can improve!

3. Are Your Skills and Passion Being Fully Utilised?

A study done by the Department of Economics and Management of the University of the Azores showed that skill mismatches in a job often leads to job dissatisfaction.

So ask yourself honestly:

“Is this job bringing out and developing the best skills in me?”

This can be a very tough question to answer honestly, but it’s worth taking the time to really evaluate your situation. Are your core skills being put to practical use in your job? Does your job encourage you to develop new ideas within your strengths? Are you continually learning, developing and sharpening your skills on the job? Do you take interest and pride in the results of your projects?

If the job isn’t utilising your best skills, developing your potential, or aligned with your interests, then it’s best for you to find a new job that does. Remember to look for a job that offers career development aligned with your skills and interests, and don’t just be influenced by the promises of higher pay or hopes of greener pastures.

Effectively, it’s about prioritising what’s best for your career growth instead of succumbing to emotions. By evaluating your situation with an objective point of view, you’ll be able to make the best decision for yourself.

Hope this helps. :) And thinking about working, well it's good that you can earn your own money already without troubling your parents. But still.. NO FREEDOM ALREADYYY. Booo! Don't cha think?

How i wish i am a freaking billionaire so that i don't have to work. Bwahahahaha. *slaps self* :P

ps: God Speed, Steve Jobs.

Dear Designers...

Dear designers...

Do read this as i think it's really meaningful, especially to those who are in the creative line. :)

And yea, an advice from my lecturer about filming though.

I think it is good for you to participate and have a stronger story after sitting down for a short discussion and see how we can expand or explore the creativity of the story line. Listen to inspiring ideas and create your own. Watch more powerful documentary shows (award winning) and see their presentation style. You need to ensure that the ‘links’ work well throughout the movie. The power of editing the story is important and how you tell the story is important apart from good technical skills shooting them.

Tips from me.

1. Good story to tell the audience!

2. Captivating views links to the story.

3. Connect what you want to say to the audience via good camera works (perception, POV, or composition)

4. And other film making reference needed.
